Ruling, Building, and Praying. Secular Authority and Religious Architecture in the Mediterranean between the 12th and 13th Centuries

The conference, dedicated to the relationship between political power and religious architecture in the medieval Mediterranean, welcomes proposals for papers (20 minutes) and posters (10 minutes) from scholars in architectural history, art history, and archaeology.
Proposals must include:title of the presentation indication of the thematic area abstract (max. 2,000 characters) 5 keywords short CV (max. 500 characters)

Grants for early-career researchers: Three grants are available for PhD candidates, covering accommodation and meals during the conference (travel not included).
Application deadline: May 31, 2026
Selected papers will be published in the Architettura Medievale series (All’Insegna del Giglio).
